View Full Version : Any credit score savvy people?
I've been using a credit repair company for a few months with great results so far. They've removed all my delinquencies from all three bureau's and are helping me with some credit inquiries right now.
My question is, I checked my credit score a few minutes ago on Experian and it's still below 700. Granted it used to be close to 600, but I was hoping now that the delinquencies associated with my credit report are gone that it would have gone up more than that. I have two credit cards that are in high-balance, although I always make more than the minimum payment and I have not been late on payments in years, could that attribute to the lower than expected score? Any suggestions on what I could do to help boost my credit?

its your debt ratio... i think they want to see that you owe less than 50% of your available credit as far as credit cards go.

Thanks for info guys, I think you're right on the money Chago. The credit cards I do have are still high in balance due to some nasty high interest rates...I'm pretty sure that's why my credit still sucks. As far as the length, I've had them for over four years now.

i know this might lower your score but i would look into getting a card with a lower interest rate.
or you can call you existing credit card companies and ask them to lower it.
they just might do that.
especially if you haven't been deliquent in the last 6months to a year.

Stay the hell away from credit cards!!! Damn sure don't use them to "mod" your truck!!! I've got some "cleaning" up to do, but it'll have to wait until my good credit is payed off. December will be the last month for a truck note and the credit cards will be payed off by then.

One thing to remember is that they WANT you to be in debt!!! Another thing is anyone who loans you a $1000 or more can take out a life insurance policy on you. They also have insurance on the money loaned, so if you "default on the loan" they get payed. So, they want you to have lots of debt, that way you'll be more likely to default and they can claim their insurance. You default, they get an insurance claim for the loan amount, fuck up your credit, sell the loan to a collection agency, and continue to harass you for the loan amount. They rape you even after you're dead!!!!
Thanks for rubbing it in guys...GOSH. :p
Naw, I appreciate the info.

stop using the credit cards, just use you your debt card only or just cash
find another credit card with a low transfer rate, and a low balance APR, and a low limit
after you do the above, do not open any more CC's for 6 months
keep the payment history in good standing.
